Communication Between Doctor and Patient
It is normal to feel a little excited on the day of surgery. After you arrive at the hospital at the time given to you, your admission will be completed on behalf of your doctor and you will then be taken to your room. To carry out the tests needed for the operation, the nurse will take blood from your arm, and an IV line will be opened in your arm to give medication and fluids. For aesthetic nose surgeries, general anesthesia is preferred for patient comfort, safety and surgical success. After your test results are ready, the anesthesiologist will examine you in your room and check whether there is any condition that may prevent anesthesia. I also visit my patients in their rooms and speak with them before surgery. After this short conversation with most of my patients, I observe that their tension decreases and they feel much more comfortable. When the time for surgery comes, after you put on the operating room clothes in your room, you will be taken to the operating room by a staff member.
I usually see my patients again in the operating room and we talk. Three bands called electrodes will be attached to the front part of your body to monitor your heartbeat. A blood pressure device will be attached to your right arm. After all these preparations are completed, you will be put to sleep by the anesthesiologist. The anesthesia devices and medications used today are very safe, and the stages of putting the patient to sleep and waking the patient up are now very comfortable. When you wake up, you will be kept in the recovery room for a while so that you can fully regain consciousness, and then you will be taken to your patient room in the ward. After waking up, patients generally do not remember the period until they are taken to their room.
