In the recent years, the developments in rhinoplasty and surgical techniques have provided a better understanding of the details of the nose anatomy.

Preservation Rhinoplasty, which is performed by preserving the nasal structures has opened a new period in rhinoplasty. There is a great interest in preservation rhinoplasty Istanbul and preservation rhinoplasty Turkey by the patients who want to have rhinoplasty in Turkey or nose job in Turkey.

Preservation Rhinoplasty is a natural, functional method that is worked with sensitive techniques, respects anatomical structures and ensures that it continues to meet the expectations of the person in the long term.

Preservation Rhinoplasty is a Combination Rhinoplasty technique. It is a union of Combination Rhinoplasty technique, which is the technique of performing surgery without damaging the tissues under cartilage and periosteum (subperichondrial and subperiostealtissues) and letdown, pushdown techniques, the main purpose of which are to protect the nasal dorsum while fixing nasal bump.

Preservation Rhinoplasty is introduced as a hybrid method in which open and closed techniques are used together and which shows that the superiorities of both techniques can be used together to achieve natural rhinoplasty that will meet the needs and expectations of the patient.

As a result, Preservation Rhinoplasty is a rhinoplasty performed with closed rhinoplasty technique and it is a less aggressive and more natural rhinoplasty technique that preserves the anatomical structures of the nose better. The basic reasons why this surgical technique is developed are:

As a result, Preservation Rhinoplasty is a rhinoplasty performed with closed rhinoplasty technique and it is a less aggressive and more natural rhinoplasty technique that preserves the anatomical structures of the nose better. The basic reasons why this surgical technique is developed are:

• Shaping the nose by making small interventions,

• While doing this, preserving the anatomical structure of the nose,

• To continue maintaining the natural and aesthetic appearance of the nose,

• To meet the needs and expectations of the person in the long term,

• To ensure that the nasal skin does not lose its vitality.

What is the difference of Preservation Rhinoplasty technique from the other closed rhinoplasty techniques?

Preservation Rhinoplasty differs from the classical closed rhinoplasty techniques in several points;

1. The most typical difference of Preservation Rhinoplasty technique is about the adjustment of the nasal hump. In this technique, the nasal hump is not adjusted rasping or making incision.

When we look at the anatomy of the nose, roughly the upper 1/3 of the nose consists of bone and the lower 2/3 consists of cartilage. So, one part of the nasal hump is bone and the other part is cartilage.

In this technique, incisions are made all over the nasal bone, the bone is lowered as a whole and the nose hump is straightened. The purpose here is to adjust the nasal hump without disrupting the naturalness of the nasal dorsum.

2. In preservation rhinoplasty, nasal skin and subcutaneous tissues are removed from the deepest plan; that is, through entering under the cartilage membrane.

In this way, all the soft tissues in the nose stay above and the trauma exposure decreases. In the surgery which is much more efficient both in aesthetic and functional terms, veins, nerves, and soft tissues suffer much less damage.

While the bleeding level decreases, less swelling, bruising occurs, the tissues heal faster, breathing problems can be eliminated and skin vitality is better preserved in the surgery.

3. If revision surgery is needed after the preservation rhinoplasty for any reason, it is much easier to perform this operation. There are two reasons for this. As the nasal dorsum has been lowered as a whole, it is like it has never been touched because the anatomy of the nose is much better preserved compared to other methods.

Secondly, if cartilage is needed for revision surgery, it is possible to meet this need through the nose since the amount of cartilage taken and used is minimal because the nose has been lowered as a block in the first surgery.

4. In preservation rhinoplasty, it is possible to shape the nasal dorsum with a massage after surgery. The nasal dorsum can be shaped with massage since it has been lowered as a block.

For instance, if it is desired to be more curved, it can be made more curved with regular massage. For similar reasons, there is no problem in wearing glasses in the early postoperative period unlike the other rhinoplasty techniques.

Why Preservation Rhinoplasty

• Almost intact nasal dorsum appearance,

• That it is a closed technique ensuring the preservation of the ligaments that provide the naturalness of the nose,

• The fact that the results are very natural due to the absence of a surgical scar and that it is not noticed by many people that you had an operation are the main reasons why preservation rhinoplasty is preferred.

The main reason that I willingly prefer this technique in our patients who are suitable is that I achieve very natural results that meet the expectations and needs of my patients and I have the chance to preserve the existing tissues while doing so.
