TWO BASIC FEATURES FOR A NATURAL-LOOKING NOSE

To achieve a natural-looking nose with rhinoplasty, two basic aesthetic features need to be present. The first is that the nose should be in harmony with the neighboring structures of the face. This includes the length and height of the nose, as well as the transition angles between the nose and forehead and between the nose and lips.

The second is that the nose should preserve the natural details found within its own structure. For example, there should be a break angle that forms a transition point between the nasal tip and the nasal bridge, as well as a skin groove extending downward from this break point to the upper border of both nasal wings.

IT IS OF CRITICAL IMPORTANCE

When light falls on the nose, natural highlights and shadows should form on the nasal tip and bridge. The ligaments connecting the nasal cartilages and skin are critically important in creating these break points. Therefore, preserving the details of rhinoplasty is best achieved with surgical techniques that protect these structures.

A NATURAL NOSE IS HIDDEN IN THE DETAILS

For this reason, lowering the nasal hump in a patient with a prominent hump, lifting the nasal tip in a patient with a drooping tip, shortening a long nose, lengthening a short nose, and changing its height are not enough to achieve a natural-looking nose. The nose may look beautiful with these interventions, but if it lacks naturalness, it will still remain the focal point of attention. A natural-looking nose is possible through the details!
